Going the extra mile for the Congo in April 2013
Sponsored walk

Adults and children of all ages have been sponsored for walking and cycling widely in Cambridgeshire andenvirons this spring to raise money for Quaker Congo Partnership
projects in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The total raised so far is £1,683.95 which will really make a difference in supporting a small hospital in Abeka, trauma counselling and peace building among children, together with a credit scheme to enable women to set up small money-making concerns.

Thank you everyone for your support of these events.

For the shared Jesus Lane event, we had beautiful weather for a river walk from the Friends Meeting House to Grantchester Meadows and back.

We had 14 children ranging from a few months to 12 years old, and 13 adults, (ranging from 20 something to 80 something!) and a relaxed picnic with 35 people in total.

Peaceful Percival, the giant peace dove puppet flew well with the adults help on the way there and the children's on the way back.

We handed out over 100 QCP leaflets to many interested people.
